The Intersection of Faith and Culture
Every news cycle seems to bring out new allegations of misconduct by pastors in the pulpit bringing shame and disrespect to the Church. A recent study conducted by Gallop shows that the public has one of the lowest views of the clergy’s ethical and moral standards in over a generation.
I have been tested in my patience, endurance, and love. Many times, they do not listen to my directions. Many times, they need me to hold and comfort them. Many more times, they need me to wake up in the middle of the night to soothe their endless cries.
The instantaneous nature of social media platforms gives us the dual power of bringing both blessing and curses on people. Consequently we must learn to walk in wisdom on a daily basis. No other generation in human history has been given the ability to reach so many people for both good and bad purposes.
